Bhubaneswar, May 21: Further to its recent announcement concerning the new members of the Management Committee, ArcelorMittal on Wednesday announced its senior leadership team for India.
“Vijay Bhatnagar will take up the new position of Country CEO for India. As such he has ultimate responsibility for all of the company's operations and projects in India,” the company said a media release.
Sanak Mishra will remain as CEO for the company's Greenfield steel projects in Jharkhand and Orissa, reporting to Vijay Bhatnagar, the company said.
M.P. Singh, as Vice-President for the company's mining initiatives globally, will continue to lead the company's mining projects in India as CEO Mining Projects (India).
The senior leadership team for India will operate in close supervision of Pierre Gugliermina, Christophe Cornier and Sudhir Maheshwari, and the rest of the General Management Board of ArcelorMittal.
Aditya Mittal, Member of the Group Management Board and Chief Financial Officer, ArcelorMittal said: “ India is a very important country for ArcelorMittal. We are committed to investing large sums in the country over the next decade and it is important that we have the right team to lead these projects. I am delighted that Vijay Bhatnagar is taking the new position of Country CEO for India . He has a very impressive track record in the steel industry having successfully led our operations starting in Mexico , then Poland and finally the whole of Eastern Europe . He will be a very strong leader for our team on the ground. He will work closely with both Dr Mishra, who will continue as CEO for our Jharkhand and Orissa Greenfield projects, and also MP Singh, who is leading our mining projects.
“Combined this team has excellent knowledge and experience and leadership and I am sure will prove a strong combination for enabling us to deliver on our commitments to the country,” Mittal said.
