Bhubaneswar, May 27: Orissa government on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with K. Raheja Corp for establishment of a dedicated infrastructure facility for the IT/ITES sectors under the brand name of Mindspace.
The MoU was singed by Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, Secretary in the State government's Department of IT, and Ravi C. Raheja, Director of the company in the presence of State IT Minister Surjya Narayan Patro.
The Mindspace IT Park will facilitate Bhubaneswar city becoming a preferred destination for IT, ITES and financial sectors, the State government said in a press release after signing of the MoU.
The proposed IT Park will be implemented through a joint venture company to be formed by government-run IDCO and K. Raheja Corp.
The IT Park will be designed as a green building thereby promoting environment-friendly and energy conserving infrastructure development practices in Bhubaneswar.
The proposed Park will create enormous employment opportunities for general graduates from colleges and universities of the State, and have a large number of women employees.
As the proposed park will have a large number of employees, the State government will ensure provision of good quality infrastructure linkage.
Orissa Computer Application Centre (OCAC), the nodal agency for IT sector promotion and facilitation, will provide single-window support to the IT Park for project implementation, the government said.
