Bhubaneswar, April 13: 'Sanp Sidi', the play presented by Shri Cultural Association of Sambalpur, bagged four state-level awards at the end of the week-long drama festival, hosted by National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) at Damanjodi.

Out of the 18 plays, staged by the leading drama troupes of Orissa, 'Sanp Sidi' was adjudged the best. Besides, it also won the best director, best supporting actor (both received by Satya Ranjan Behera) and best supporting actress awards. The second best play award went to 'Baksha' by Sampark of Rourkela.

The best play of audience choice was claimed by 'Ghaa', staged by Abarniguda Natya Sansad of Padampur. Ashok Bohidar won the best playwright award for the same.

The best actor and best actress awards went to Debabrata Patnaik of Saregama, Nalconagar, Angul for his role in 'Jiva' and Gitarani Das of Sursangam Sanskrutika Parishad, Loisingha for the play 'Kuanri'.

Similarly, the best comedian award was bagged by Surendra Padhi of Sampark, Rourkela and best child artiste award by Suraj Prakash Sahu of Saregama, Nalconagar, Angul.

Nisar Ahmed Nisar was adjudged the best music director for the play 'Kuanri', while Sanjay Mishra bagged the best stagecraft award for 'Pipasa', staged by Nalco Corporate Office, Bhubaneswar. Sudarsan Pradhan received a special jury's award for his role in 'Pipasa'.

The jury comprised noted theatre personalities viz. Shesadev Satapathy, Bidhubhusan Nanda, Rajeswar Patra and Jagadananda Churia.
