Puri (Odisha), Oct 10: Popular sand artist from Odisha Sudarsan Pattnaik on Saturday carved a four-foot high sand sculpture on Puri beach to congratulate US President Barack Obama on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pattnaik created images of Obama and the Nobel Prize bearing with a message for peace in the world – `Let Peace Prevail'.

Patnaik used three tonnes of sand to make the sculpture. Students of the Golden Sand Art Institute that he runs in the coastal Odisha town also helped him in the work.

“I believe in peace and harmony and I take this opportunity to greet Barack Obama. I hope the American President would do everything to promote world peace,” Patnaik said.
