Live webcast of Rath Yatra Monday

Puri (Orissa): For the first, the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will be webcast live for the benefit of people around the world on Monday.

The rituals connected to the car festival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra and the pulling of

the chariots on the Grand Road from the main temple to Gundicha temple will be available on www.rathjatra.nic.in from 9 am onwards on the Yatra day.

The webcast of the event will be done by National Informatics Centre.

The live feed of the festival will be collected from Doordarshan.

The authorities of Jagannath Temple Administration with the help of National Informatics Centre have also hosted another website www.jagannath.nic.in through which devotees can avail information about Lord Jagannath and various festivals connected to the Lord. People can also make donations by using credit cards.

Apart from the live webcast, Rath Yatra will be telecast live by at least three television channels on Monday - Doordarshan, OTV and ETV-Oriya. Other channels such as Zee, Aajtak and Star are likely to telecast the Yatra live for a limited period.
