Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: Here is good news for those buying various products of Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (OMFED) in different parts of Orissa.
The milk products as well as horticulture and agro products of OMFED will now be available at petrol pumps of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) across the State.
The operation was launched at the Bhamra IOC petrol pump at CRP Square of the city on Wednesday soon after a memorandum of understanding was signed between

OMFED and IOC. Similar milk parlours will be opened at other places in due course.
The MoU was signed by OMFED's Deputy General
Manager (Marketing) Basant Mishra and IOC's
Deputy General Manager P. Dey in the presence
of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of OMFED
Hrushikesh Panda and senior IOC officials.
"The initiative will help local consumers
and distant passengers to carry OMFED products
from the IOC petrol pumps at odd hours at
a reasonable price," Panda said.
Panda said OMFED was striving hard to improve
the socio-economic condition of poor milk
producers in the State by proving extra
one rupee per litre of collected milk by
charging this to the urban consumers from
November 1.
Talking about OMFED's expansion plans,
Panda informed that the organisation was
planning to have five lakh members in cattle
rearing and provide 5000 retailers on commission
in the State.
Due to waiving of milk holiday, OMFED had
been able to collect four lakh litres of
milk per day and market the entire stock
to the consumers, Panda informed.
