Kendrapara (Orissa), Jan 23: Apparently inspired by magic legend P C Sorcar Jr, a prominent magician from the state has claimed that he would make the famous the Konark Sun temple and State Legislative Assembly building disappear for at least a couple of minutes.
“I have written letters to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary and have made request to accord official permission for this ‘vanishing' show,” magician R. K. Hiralal told reporters here on Wednesday.
Hiralal, whose daily magic shows are drawing packed audience in this township, said that magic legend P C Sorcar Jr had successfully performed to vanish Victoria Memorial and Taj Mahal that inspired him.
“I have done my home work for more than two years to perform this magic,” he said.
“If the State government allows, I am well prepared to make the State Assembly building disappear, besides the Sun temple at Konark. The show, if the government desires, would be performed in broad daylight.”
“Magic is both science and an art. One has to master the art hypnotism and mesmerism to become a perfect magician,” he observed.
“A perfect magician has a sixth sense of sort. He should be able to guess what is coming next and be prepared for the trick in a split of second,” said Hiralal, a native of Jagatsinghpur district.
“We have set up Hiralal Trust. Portions of annual profits are deposited in the Trust. The Trust has been doing philanthropic work,” told Hiralal.
