Bhubaneswar, April 17: East Coast Railway has won "Runners up" position in the 67th All India Railway Hockey Championship held at Gwalior from March 31 to April 12.
It is for the first time that East Coast Railway Hockey Team led by Subal Barla achieved this position in All India Railway Hockey Championship. |

In the final match played at North Central Railway AstroTurf Hockey Stadium, ECoRSA met Western Railway, Mumbai. During quarterfinal and semifinal, ECoRSA ream defeated ICF and Southern Railway respectively.
ECoRSA got the second position this year in comparison to last year's position where this Railway was out during the league matches.
This tremendous record has been achieved by thorough training and practice followed by ECoRSA's Management.
A.K. Goyal, General Manager, East Coast Railway announced a special cash award of Rs 10,000 to the ECoRSA Hockey Team during a felicitation ceremony here.
Goyal was hopeful that ECoRSA will emerge as the champion team in the next year's competition and exhorted the players to practice more for getting all Indian position.
D.K. Samantray, President of ECoRSA, welcomed all the members of the team individually wishing them all success.
